Polyflor SA is proud to announce the appointment of Clive Rabie as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Big shoes to fill
Clive has taken over the helm from Pieter du Plessis (affectionally known as “Uncle Pete”) who has retired at the end February after more than a decade of service at Polyflor’s Head Office in Sebenza. Pieter will continue to serve on Polyflor’s Board of Directors and is on standby to offer advice and guidance when called upon.
Tasks and responsibilities
As an influential member of the Executive team, Clive works closely with CEO Tandy Coleman by overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that Polyflor’s business runs as effectively and efficiently as possible by designing and implementing business operations and policies that meet the company’s brand promise.
Moving from Cape Town
Prior to joining the Polyflor team at the beginning of the year, Clive and his family lived in Cape Town where he was involved in the steel fabrication industry for more than 25 years. “We decided to take the big step of moving to Gauteng when a new and exciting challenge presented itself through an opportunity to become part of a highly respected company within the flooring industry at Polyflor,” Clive says.
On a personal note
He describes himself as “a family man who likes to work and play hard” and has been married to Marietjie (a Quantity Surveyor) for the past 20 years. He is also the proud father of three children, Kyle (18), Carey-Anne (14) and Katherine (9).
“I feel super excited about this new chapter in my life and my career that has started at Polyflor. I’ve had great support from the team who has done everything in their power to make me feel welcome and settled in. I only have the greatest respect for the Polyflor brand and the Coleman family who has built this phenomenal business over the last 20 years. I count it an honour and a privilege to be part of a company that has built a well-earned reputation for their flooring expertise, customer care and driving passion for everything they do!”.
