The new Mykonos Marina development in Langebaan was architecturally designed by Craft of Architecture (COA) and offers a unique aesthetic comprising of 25 luxury apartments. The project was inspired by the hap-hazard village culture of Mykonos where walkways and alleyways bend between private homes and spaces are delineated by courtyards. The uniform white aesthetic allowed the architects to stagger and step contemporary minimalist volumes with the curve of the marina, creating interesting compositions and framing the blue skies above.
The design encompasses a special feature of stable doors which are incorporated into the courtyard design. These provide a flexible threshold allowing people to further engage in the village culture by getting to know their neighbours. The Mykonos aesthetic was re-interpreted to produce crisp clean modernist volumes which still tie into the greater context through unique detailing and attention to the relationship between indoor-outdoor and public-private spaces
The apartments range from bachelor at 56sqm, to Duplex units of 105sqm to the Penthouse units ranging in size from 124-164sqm offering a piece of impressive quayside lifestyle. With this new high end architecturally exceptional development, Marina Village in Club Mykonos has now been destined to become the top destination in which to enjoy the West Coast lifestyle – this will become the most exclusive offering in the Langebaan area.
